漆塗り作家・藤井嘉彦がつくるガラスの透明性と漆の豊かな表現力が融合した新しい漆器に、デザイナー・稲葉絵里の感性が響き合い、新しい洋食器「ペルラ」が誕生しました。
パールを染料で染め上げた特殊漆樹脂を、ガラスの裏面から意匠つけすることで、ガラスの色付け施法ではできなかったパール意匠を、漆器の技法で作り上げた、とても美しいものです。
Glass + lacquer. GLASS JAPAN is the result of a combination of traditional Kuroe techniques and new ideas.
The new lacquerware by lacquer painter Yoshihiko Fujii combines the transparency of glass with the rich expressiveness of lacquer, while designer Eri Inaba's sensibilities resonate with the new Western tableware Perla.
By applying a special lacquer resin, dyed with pearl dyes, to the back of the glass, the pearl design, which could not be achieved with the glass colouring method, is created using the lacquerware technique and is very beautiful.

"My favourite city... the image of Kobe, a port town with a deep connection to pearls, is expressed in the texture of pearls and the tradition of Kuroe, a town of lacquerware. I expressed it with pale colours."
